Judy Levenson To Provide January In-Depth Training for K-12 Schools: Investigating Sexual Harassment Complaints Under Title IX
Given the growing likelihood that the governing 2020 Title IX Regulations (Regulations) will remain in effect throughout the 2023-2024 school year, and ongoing interest in training about those Regulations, Judy Levenson offered a repeat overview training for K-12 schools about investigating sexual harassment complaints under Title IX. Run on December 5th, representatives of approximately twenty-five Massachusetts school districts attended, as did representatives of a few municipal police departments.
One important implementation issue to which the U.S. Department of Educations (ED), Office for Civil Rights (OCR) is paying increased attention and that a parent of a Massachusetts student has alleged in at least one lawsuit filed against a Massachusetts school district, is the failure of certain K-12 schools (and higher education institutions) to conduct independent Title IX school investigations when a concurrent criminal investigation based on the same set of facts is ongoing.
In January 2024, Judy will present an in-depth, interactive, two-part training about How to Investigate Title IX Complaints, sponsored by the Massachusetts Interlocal Insurance Association (MIIA).
