Judy Levenson Conducts Title IX Sexual Harassment Training for K-12 School District Administrators and Staff
On September 27, 2023, Judy Levenson presented an overview training for K-12 schools about how to respond to Title IX sexual harassment complaints under the 2020 Title IX Regulations. The Massachusetts Interlocal Insurance Association (MIIA) sponsored the training. Representatives of 46 public school districts throughout Massachusetts, including superintendents, principals, Title IX team members and teachers, attended as did representatives of numerous local police departments. The training was especially important given the growing likelihood that the 2020 Regulations may remain in effect long into 2024 because the Biden Administration may miss its second extended deadline of October 2023 for publishing its final revised Title IX Regulations. A large number of new school employees and local police officers first became involved with Title IX issues after the 2020 Regulations were adopted but have not yet been trained about those Regulations. The training also served as a useful reminder to existing school administrators and staff at the beginning of a new school year about the many complex requirements under the 2020 Regulations. In the near future, Judy will present a two-part training focusing specifically on how to investigate Title IX sexual harassment complaints.
